Frequently Asked Questions

What is Madisonville Forward?

Madisonville Forward is the campaign to put YOUR restaurant tax dollars to work! 75% of the tax dollars go towards projects that promote tourism (for example, our new, super cool skatepark on Sugg St, the brand new mini golf course set to open in the summer of 2018, the new playground at Madisonville City Park, and other updates at places like the YAA fields and Elmer Kelley Stadium) and the other 25% of the dollars go towards events like this that promote tourism (think Friday Night Live, 4thFest, Kidapalooza, and even more in the months to come!).

How can the city put on these huge events?

Because we're The Best Town on Earth, of course! We also put your restaurant tax dollars (aka the 3% tax you pay to eat in TBTOE) to work, we have great community partners that work with us to help generate funding for great events, and we've got a whole gang of city employees who work hard making sure we have adequate electricity, lots of lighting, clean parks, safe stages, and plenty of places to get rid of your trash.

Where do we park?

Our team will have a parking team to direct traffic to the appropriate parking locations and direct you where to go from there!

Are non-profits allowed to fundraise at Bacon, Blues and Big Stories?

Absolutely! We've even got a lowered vendor booth rate for non-profits. Download the vendor app above and get to work!

Will the artists be selling t-shirts and other merchandise at the events?

Yep!

Do we need to purchase tickets to attend this event?

Nope! The events are free to the public and require no prior registration!

Can we bring our own food and/or alcohol?

Nope! We'll have beer/wine vendors at each event though and anyone 21+ is able to indulge. We ask that you do not bring coolers. We always have lots of yummy food and beverage vendors and we ask that you give them a try!

Can we bring our dogs?

Sure! Make sure they're on a leash and please clean up after them.

Do you allow lawn chairs?

Absolutely!

What happens if it rains?

We do our best to make sure the show will go on, but if we do have to cancel, keep an eye on this website, the City of Madisonville Facebook Page, and sign up for our Go Madisonville Text Alerts by texting GOMADVILLE to 51660.

Is this event family-friendly?

Always! This festival is having a 'Piglets Party' on Saturday just for the kids! Let your kids come experience inflatables, face painting, and tons of other activities they are sure to love!

Can you camp at the park?
